Hi Andre,

It would help to know more about french origin. I have traced our family back to Calais in the 1700's and back to Diocese of Poitier, (St. Helaire de Gourge church parish, Gourge, France; near Parthenay), in the 1600's, but have dificulty getting responses from government archivists in that region.
