born Dover, Delaware 1788;
died Alexandria VA 1852.
sons: John Frances Marion, James William,
Joseph Edgar
dau: Elizabeth, Catherine
2) John Simpson Chauncey
born Delaware 1790;
died Washington DC 1851-59.
son: John Thomas
dau: Lydia, Bridget, Harriet, Emiline
Both families were Methodists.
