Your Renney P. Chasteen was the son of John Chasteen. Renney was born 1813/14 in SC died in Banks County, GA He married Anna brewer-born 1815 in SC (Anderson Co. SC Deeds, Vol. 2A, page 357-Nov. 9 1846. She was the daughter of John and Milly Brewer. She had sisters and brothers. Elizabeth Brewer b. 1810 in SC married Eli Moore -- Jane Brewer (Frances?) B. 1811 in SC--- Mary Brewer B. 1812 in SC, married Johnson Martin --- William Brewer, J.W. Brewer, Ann --Tabitha Brewer (deceased by 1854) --Nancy C. Brewer B. 1829, deceased by 1959 married -?- Johnson --- Milly Brewer.
Renney's Children were James Basil (my g grandfather), John W., Mary Jane, Henry Smith, Tabittha, William B., Sarah E. Milly C., Easter M., Lucinda Emeline, Newton G.
Renney's father was John Chastain b. 1784 Pendleton Dist., SC not much else was known of him. John was the son of Stephen Chastain.
Stephen b. 1762 in Virginia died May 24, 1830 in Anderson Dist. SC wife unknown. Children were: John, b. 1784/90 SC -- David, b. 1890/94 -- Samuel -- James -- Stephen.
Stephen was the son of Rev. James Chastain b. 1740 in Goochland Co VA died in Anderson Co. SC was a jBaptist minister. His children were Stephen b. 1762 in VA, --Abraham, James, Joel, John, William, Samuel, David, Royal, Benjamin, Obediah, Joseph, and three daughters
Rev. James Chastain was the son of Pierre/Peter Chastain Jr. b. 1707 in Goochland Co VA died in Buckingham Co. VA (date unknown due to fire in courthouse in 1869) Married Mildred (Middy) Archer. Their children were: James Chastain b. 1740 VA, John b. 1743 in Goochland Co VA died 1805 in SC, Rene Chastain b. 1745 in Buckingham Co. VA died March 21, 1818 in Buckingham Co., Abraham Chastain b. abt 1750 in Albemarle Co. died March 15, 1821 in Greenville Co. SC, Martha Chastain married James Edens in Augusta Co VA abt 1765, Archer Chastain.
Pierre/Peter Chastain Jr. was the son of Pierre/Peter Chastain (the immigrant) and Anne Soblet. Pierre/Peter Sr. was born 1660 in Charost, France and married Marie Makaline de la Rockefaucald; she was born 1666 in Province of Doffine, France. he was a Physician/Surgeon. They came to the US on the Mary and Ann . Left London on April 19, 1700 The ship arrivced July 23, 1700 at the mouth of the James River in VA Pierre/Peter's wife and three children died during the first winter in VA. Pierre married second wife, Anne Soblet. Anne died April 3, 1723. Pierre married wife #3, Magdeline (Flournoy) Trabue. She was b. in Geneva, Switzerland and was the widow of Antoine Trabue. Her father was Jacob Flournoy. Pierre died between Oct. 3 and Nov. 20, 1728 Weill made our Oct. 3 and probated on Nov. 20, 1728.
