Mary Alice Chasteen (1860-1920)A cherokee Indain who was born in Alabama, married William Jackson Ware (1852-1909). They had ten children who were born and reared in the Cuba-Locke area north of Memphis, Tennessee. The children were Cora, Bircha, Raleigh (boy), Gertie, Betrice, Giles, Trusty,Cecil, Veta, and Arbrau (girl).
Most of the family settled in Memphis.
