I'm trying to find relatives. My Grandmother gave me her known history of my Grandfather's family before he died in 1980.
My Grandfather was born Dec. 26, 1910. I'm not sure where. My Father grew up in the Forsyth, GA. area. My Grandmother told me that my Grandfather's family was from Alabama and (I can't recall which) the 4 states north of Georgia.
My Great-grandfather's name was Joseph Alfred Craig (my Grandmother told me she had seen a picture of his Mother, supposedly a full-blooded Cherokee, dressed in full Indian attire. Her "Christian" name was "Suzy/Susie(Susan?)".
Joseph's wife was named Leeoma Savanah Chast(-ain, -een or -ine). She had two brothers, John and Joseph (who married a Josie (maiden-name unknown) and had a child with the initials J.F. Chast(-ain, -een or -ine). I've talked to someone who has a Josephine Leeoma Chastain and a James F. Chastain who married a Josie Goss. As tempting as this is, I'm still trying to find a definite connection or other link.
