This is a post for Larry Olsen who has email but not internet access at this time. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Here's a descendancy chart, starting with my wife's great-great-great grandfather, Jesse Chasteen (Jesse-1, John Franklin-2, Rosetta May-3, John Maurice Leach-4, Virginia Ellen Leach-5, Rebecca Jeanne Lind-6). It appears the Chasteen's may have started out in KY or VA, were living in Indiana (Jefferson, Marion, and Vigo counties) from 1850-1880, then moved on with intermarrying families like the Leaches to Iowa and Missouri.
Distant cousin Alvera Chasteen (Mrs. Bill Williams) currently lives outside of Kansas City.
There's a lady named Virginia Jean Pence, whom I would dearly like to locate. She submitted Jesse Chasteen and some descendants of one of his daughters to the LDS Ancestral File, and I'm wondering if she's a relation. Unfortunately, her address as listed in the Ancestral FIle is
out of date... I believe she's a member of the Pierre Chastain family organization. Do you perhaps have a membership list, or the name and address of the membership secretary?
