Yes that is the same Chastain family. What I am trying to find is the parents of James Chastain and the father of Elizabeth Smith. Here is what I do have. Can you add anything? Make corrections?
1. James Whitt2 Chastain (Chastain1) was born January 11, 1813 in North Carolina, and died August 29, 1882 in Forsyth Co, Georgia. He married Elizabeth Clayton Smith January 10, 1840 in Forsyth Co., Georgia, daughter of Smith and Dicy. She was born December 03, 1821 in Georgia, and died June 01, 1910 in Forsyth Co., Georgia.

In the name of God Amen
I James W. Chastain of said state and county, being of advanced age, and knowing that I must soon depart this life, deem it right and proper, as respects myself and family, to make a disposition of the property with which a kind Providence has blessed me, hereby revoking all others, do make this my last Will and Testament.
Item 1. i desire and request that my body be buried in a descent and Christian like manner.
Item 2. I desire and request that my beloved wife Elizabeth Chastain have and control all my property both real and personal during her natural life, and at her death to be equally divided between all my heirs, to wit--Dicy Plemmons formerly Dicy Chastain, Jonathan F. Chastain, Joel B. Chastain, Nancy Bottoms formerly Nancy Chastain, Martha A. Woods formerly Martha A. Chastain and Mary L. Chastain.
Item 3. I further desire and request that my beloved wife Elizabeth Chastain be my executrix, and my son Jonathan F. Chastain be my executor to this my last will and Testament. I desire that my daughter, Mary L. Chastain to be made equal with the rest of my heirs, so far as what property I have already distributed to the rest of my heirs. Then the remainder of my property to be disposed of as above stated.
Witness my hand and seal. This May 24th 1881.

Chastain, deceased, sign and publish the foregoing Will dated 24th May 1881 is his last will and testament while of sound and disposing mind, that they witnessed the same for him, at his request, and in his presence that the same was executed voluntarily, on the day it purports to have been executed.

Funeral notice appeared in Waco News Tribune July 26, 1924
Funeral services for Mrs. D.K. Plemons who died Thursday afternoon near Ocee were held yesterday afternoon at three oclock at the cemetery in Crawford.. Reverend Mr. Jolly, Pastor of Shilo Baptist Church officiating. Grandsons acted as pallbearers. There were many in attendance, as Mrs. Plemons had lived in that community since 1891 and was general esteemed.

Notes for Joseph Tummelston Plemmons:
Enlisted in Civil War Company F 11th Georgia Volunteer Infantry on February 24, 1862. On July 10, 1863 he was wounded in leg at the Battle of Funkstown where he was kneeling and a musketball hit him just above his knee passing through his leg into his ankle completely shattering the bones in his leg rendering his leg essentially useless. On May 25, 1888 he aplied for a maim soldiers pension and was paid fifty dollars on March 8 1889, March 14, 1890 and February 15, 1891. Moved to Texas shortly after. His widow did receive a widows pension.

Joseph was living in Gilmer County Georgia in 1860. During the 1860's he moved to Spring Place in Murray County Georgia. By June 8, 1880 they were living in Whitfield County Georgia. He moved to Crawford in McLennan County Texas by 1891.

Joel B. Chastain, 78, a resident of this county for 35 years, died Sunday at 12:45 P.M. at the home of his son G.B. Chastain of 817 Jefferson Avenue. he had been ill since Monday. Funeral services are to be held from the Compton Funeral Home at 1 P.M. Monday with Rev. Arthur Loper, Baptist Minister, officiating. Interment is to be made at the Crawford Cemetery with Crawford masons in charge.
Surviving Mr. Chastain are four sons, G.B. of Waco, J.B. of Valley Mills, J.F. of Breckenridge and E.C. Chastain of Pharr; One sister, Mrs. Mary Harris of Georgia. Mr. Chastain was a member of the Masonic Order and of the Oddfellows lodge.
