Hi Chastain researchers,
Joseph and Elizabeth Chastain Garrett had a son by the name of James G. Garrett who married Minerva E. Hooper in 1881. I just received the death certificate for my great grandfather, James Grayson Garrett, who married Hulda Caroline Burrell sometime (I think) after 1886. The death certificate shows his mother to be Elizabeth Chastain GA but it shows his father to be William Chastain NC. I think it is possible that my great uncle could have made a mistake: Elizabeth's sister, Nancy, married a William Garrett; Elizabeth's husband, Joseph Patton Garrett, had a father named William; and James Grayson had a son by the name of William. Is there anyone related to this family who would know the middle name of Joseph and Elizabeth's son James G?
