My great-great-grandmother was Nancy Ann Chastain b.1819 SC daughter of William Chastain and Annie Motes. Annie is said to have been full-blooded Cherokee and William was probably one-half. The only other child that I have listed for them is William Chastain b. Nov. 20, 1811 SC; d. Jan. 1865, Cobb Co., GA. He md. [1]Martha "Patsy" Jones ca 1829 and m. [2] Mary D. Long, Jan. 15, 1854. Nancy never married, but had 13 children by Mark Burrell. Mark and Nancy [also Mark's wife Hulda Denton] were in Oconee Co., SC for awhile. Then Nancy lived in Macon Co., NC with her daughter Dicey Clark. Nancy lived to be 107 years old and is buried in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Macon Co., NC. If you find any more information on Nancy's brother William, I would love to have it. Also, if I can help you any other way, please let me know.
