I think my ggg-grandmother Mary Nicholson Chastain is your Alfred Nicholson's sister. She was b. 1791 in SC and d. 1868 in Walker Co, GA. She was married to Rainey Chastain, and he had a sister named Mary, born 10 July 1796 who married Alfred Nicholson. I'm sure you've got all the info on the Chastains from the Pierre Chastain Family association. All I can tell you about Alfred and Mary's father John is that he was supposed to have been from Buncombe Co, NC, that he was supposed to have died at 100 years of age, and that he was supposed to have fought in the Revolutionary War. I have never had the time to track down these rumors. I wish you luck.
