I have Edward "Ned" and Eliza Brown Chastain as the parents of Mary A.(b. 1843), John C. (b. 1845), Isabella (b. 1847), C. Jane (b. Jan 1850), and Ezekiel Elihu "Zeke" Chastain (b, Jan 1853). Edward was probably the son of Abner and Rachel Cassie Barnes Chastain.
Possible Residences for the Shooks and Chastains: Haywood County, NC (1850); Jackson County, NC; Gumlog, Union County, GA; Towns County, GA; Caddo County, Oklahoma;, Lickskillet, Cherokee County, GA; Woodstock, GA; Warnie, Clay County, NC; Gaston County, NC, and possibly Macon County, NC (given as birth conty for Phnaire on a child's death certificate).
Cemetery: Many Forks Cemetery in Murphy, NC (listed on death certificates) Only Phnaire's death certificate gives the location Murphy, NC. Others list Many Fork(s). Her name is spelled many ways--Phfnair, Phanaire, Phnire, Phnar, Fnaire, etc.
She had eleven children. I have the names of eight Shook children: Cordelia, Joseph Milton, Francis S.(male), Ezekiel, Hubert, Cleara May, George Eldridge, and Ralph Shook. Could someone correct me or give me the names of the remaining three?
