I am hoping that someone can help me with some documentary evidence regarding Abner Henley Chastain (born 1797 in SC, moved to Georgia by 1830 and died in Arkansas in 1883).Some sources list a first wife as Miss Morgan, but cite no documentary evidence. His second wife, from whom I descend, was Miss Elrod, by whom he had eight children. He married his last wife, Sylvia Jackson, in Hall County, Georgia, in 1833.
Does anyone know of any documentary evidence to prove that he is the son of Abraham Chastian and Mary Robertson, and is there any proof that Abraham is the son of Pierre, Jr.?
Does any one know of any documentary evidence for Abner Henley Chastain's birth and death dates that are commonly given in differt Chastain books?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
