Hello;
I would love any help from anyone who has info on Rene Chastain, Sr. and his wife Judith Martin (Martain). I know that his death records and will are recorded in the Abbeville County, SC records, but does anyone know where he (they) are buried? I am distantly descended from the Chastain line (only recently discovered).
The fascinating thing here, is that my parents (who are Montanans) moved to Aiken, SC to work at the Savannah River plant in the 1950's, and there I was born and raised. After college, I moved "back" out West, and never knew I had any roots in the South, until I took up genealogy. Imagine my amazement when I discovered my many-times great grandfather had lived and apparently died not many miles from where I grew up! Anyway, two of my sisters still live in Aiken, and I'd LOVE it if we could find Rene's (and hopefully Judith's) graves, or at least the cemetary.
