Chastains of Rabun Co., GA / N GA Mtns

There is some mention of the Chastain family on the 1830 Census of Rabun Co., GA, who were pioneers in the North Georgia Mountains, in a book called "High Humor Of The Hills." The family is mentioned in the genealogy addendum. Many of their neighbors and kin are talked about in the true anecdotes section.

Below is a link to this book. It has a lot of true Appalachian humor, and some local family histories:

Other counties mentioned include Lumpkin, Habersham, White, Fannin, Gilmer, Pickens, Dawson, etc., as well as the mountains of neighboring NC and TN counties.
