My guess is that Allen is the son of Stephen Chastain, Jr. If I read the census records correctly, then there is a son between the ages of 1835-1840 that is not listed on the 1850 census. There are two sons (or brothers?) missing from James Chastain's (b. 1800) but they appear too young (b. 1826-1830.
The only other information I have on Martha is that her parents were Joseph W. (b. 1802) and Sarephta (b. 1814) Williams. She was the sister of Alexander (b. 1837) and Ambrose Williams (b. 1841). I am indebted to a Williams researcher for that information.
You might find information by researching family friends. I found a connection to one family that had a grandmother a hundred years in the past.
