for Mildred (Middy) Archer being the wife of Peter
Chastain, Jr. Further, no parents identified for her.
If no documentation, what is the basis or rationale
for name of Archer. It must have been adduced somehow.

Mildred (Middy) Witt was wife of Peter Chastain, Jr.
However, some tenuous support to the folklore
1. Chastain and Witt were allied families, and lived
close to one another. For instance, 3rd generation B
Benjamin Witt d1774 married Marianne Chastain, the daughter of Jean Chastain & his first wife Marianne David.
2. Peter Chastain, Jr. was named Executor of the estate
of William Witt d1754 in Albemarle Co., VA., which
suggest some connection, perhaps son-in-law.
3. The will of William Witt d1774 infers more children
than named in his will, perhaps "Middy" Witt Chastain.
Again, what is the basis for Mildred (Middy) Archer being
the wife of Peter Chastain, Jr.
