David Chastain married E. Josephine Ann Hopkins April 3, 1866 in Hart County, Georgia. I have their children as William Marion (b. 1868), Mary Jane (b. Jan. 1870), Elvira D.(b. 1872), George Washington (b. 1874), Albert T.(b. 1876), and Charles R. Chastain (b. 1879).
Cooper B. Chastain was born in Anderson County, SC. His most likely parents are David and Sarah "Sally" Cooper Chastain. Sally Chastain may be found in Anderson County, SC in 1850 (W Div,Anderson, SC--HH 153 Img 21/163, pg.167a), 1860 (Regiment 42, Anderson, SC--HH 291 Img 20/155, pg 271b), and July 30, 1870 (Fork Twp, Anderson, SC--pg 518a).
David Chastain is probably the son of Stephen Chastain, Sr. (b. 1762 d. May 24, 1830 in the Anderson District, SC)
