Hi Janet...
I am currently researching the CHASTAIN family in this same line (John>William Calvin>George). George W. Chastain (married to Azaline Towery) was my husband's maternal grandfather.
Do you have any information on John Chastain's parents and his siblings? I have unsubstantiated notes stating that John's father was Abner Chastain but so far I haven't gotten to that point of proof yet. If you have any information on this line I would truly appreciate it if you could share it.
