If you get this you message, you might be able to
help me with my research. I am looking for documentation for DAR membership from Rev. John Chastain through his son Elijah and his grandson Elijah Jr. I have a copy of Vol. 1 of the Pierre Chastain descendents that gives names and dates and children of Elijah and Elijah Jr., but I understand that I need documentation of the marriages, births, and deaths. Elijah Jr.'s son Rainey Franklin Chastain was my great grandfather. He was married to Ezriah Farr, and my grandmother was their child Effie May Chastain born in 1880 in Williamson Co., TX. She married my grandfather William Harrison Morrison in 1895 and my father was their first son, Charles Leon Morrison, born 1901 in Waxahachie, TX. I have tracked the family through census records and marriage licenses to my birth. Rev. John Chastain has already been declared a patriot, and that is documented by DAR. I'm looking for verification of the information in the Pierre Chastain descendents books. The early census records did not name male children, just sorted them by age. And of course, there were no birth certificates. I don't even have one for either of my parents and have to rely on census records and marriage information.
