I'm wondering if this is the same Elijah Chastain who signed for his daughter Lydia Chastain to marry John Cox in February 1830 in Morgan County, Illinois (Jacksonville. I think this couple are my ggggrandparents. Later census reports in CO indicate that Lydia's parents were born in Virginia and she was born in Kentucky. Her birthdate is about 1808-1809, so it might be that she had an elder sister.
