hi,
i think i am on to something.My gfather Frank Chasteen says his mother and father were born in NC on 1920 census.Well i just found a Pinkney Chastain in 1850 census with his parents and sibblings in Robeson County NC.It is the upper division of Robeson County.I also found Pinkn Maxton Twp. in Robeson County NC.$ of their children are not at home.Pinkney married Mallie in 1877 when she was 12 years of age.They were married 23 years according to the 1900 census.Think if i keep looking i will find him and Mallie in 1880 with my gfather.Mom was born in Robeson County and My gfather lived there with my gmother.Also my gmother lived in Robeson county as she grew up.
