On the 1810 census of VA, a William Chasteen/Chastain lived next to the families of Allen Hood, and an unnamed Hood. My ancestor, Chasteen Hood, was born abt 1800 in Amelia County. His sister, Hallie Pleasant Hood, was listed as the orphan of a Patsy Hood. Does anyone know anything about these families and their connections? Also - did they intermarry with any Indians? Chasteen looks like he could have been part Indian. Thanks. Dawnene
