From what I can tell Joseph married Angelique Laviolette first, but she died at 35, if you look at the burial records under Sancartier you'll find Angelique, wife of Joseph, an obvious typo of some sort. She was born 1820 and died 1855. Looking at the other names of witnesses, Antione Laviolette,Jean Baptiste Laviolette are Angeliques brothers, Charles is her Father, so that has to be the right Joseph. I think that he married two Laviolette women for sure, and I think they may have been sisters! Angelique had a sister named Mary Nancy Laviolette, I think this is the mother of Josephs other children. There is also a Joseph Chartier I found in Metis scrip who married a Christine Robertson in 1868. Since Joseph died in 1863, I have no Idea who this is. Could be his grandson. My Mom actually got that info on Joseph being born in Quebec from the Manitoba Archives, I'll ask what record for sure and get back
