As a descendant of Catherine's son, Pierre and daughter Jeanne, I thank you for the info. you have posted concerning Catherine's probable roots.

A lot of attention has been given to this issue, and the latest article in "Le Chainon" which is available on-line at the link you posted, dwelves more into the genealogical roots then DNA results. It is BECAUSE of the DNA findings that the authors decided to investigate further and found what is probably Catherine Le Plat (Pilliard)'s true identity with documents to support it.

I encourage everyone who is a descendant of Pierre Charron Ducharme and Catherine Pilliard (LePlat) to read all the articles in Le Chainon for a better understanding of this issue.
