In my opinion, 3 people amongst thousands does not offer proof. Now, if they were able to get Catherine's DNA, then I would agree with this paper. With the amount of trade and wars that occured in the area in Roman, Mongol and Nordic times, there is a possibility that she was a descendant from this lineage. I would like to see how many, if any, residents of France ( La Rochelle) have Haplograph Group A. There is also a possibility that somewhere along these lines, one female child was in fact Amerindian and was "adopted". Do you know what records were used to develop this theory? I think research in France to find her baptism and those of here ancestors would be of interest.
