This was taken from the May 9,1900 Saluda Advocate,Also married by Rev.A.W.Lindler and at the residence of same a few days ago,Mr.John B.Burnette and Mrs. Eugenia Charles. David Charles married Lucy Wise Addy after her first husband died. She died 2 April 1884 and is buried at St.Marks Lutheran Church in Saluda County. John Charles was David's uncle. He also had a aunt named Rebecca. David's parents were, David Charles borned about 1792 and died after 1870, Mary Harris Palmer borned about 1790 and died after 1860. Young David was borned about 1850 and died Nov.1896. He is buried at Nazareth Methodist Church in Saluda County. John sold David 83 acres of land for a dollar and that he take care of him and Rebecca until they died. As you can see Eugenia had Cromwell before Lucy died. My great grandfather was Patrick Charles and he lived close to David and John. Some people said Patrick married a Matthews. But the Whittle family said he married a Bedenbaugh. I am looking for the obits on Silas Crumbwell Charles,John Lee and Marionniola(Ola)Charles Joyner. Also their death certificates. Mary Palmers father was Patrick Palmer. John and Ola came back to SC in 1909 and sold 87 acres of land in Saluda County.
