I have an Oliver Charles born 1777 who married Janie Birdwell of VA. They were in TN and Jackson Co, AL where he died ca 1844. They supposedly had 14 children. I only know the name of one - James Madison Charles, the 13th child was born in 1828. He returned to TN ca 1850's. There could be a connection.
