I am searching for the ancestors of Isaiah B. CHARLES born 12/10/1851. His father may have been E.R. Charles who came to California @ 1853 possibly from Illinos. Or both may have lived in Missouri. I don't have the spouse/mother's name. I am not sure where E.R. first settled, but Isaiah Charles was settled in the Sonoma Area, possibly on the Rock Pile Ranch in Mendocino. He was the first City Marshal/Sheriff of Santa Rosa. He died 3/1936. His obit. stated that he had a sister, Imanda Charles TAFT living in Missouri. I do not know exactly who he married, but I think her surname was LOWRY or ORNBAUM.
Isaiah had a daughter Myna Ann CHARLES, born 1/26/1880 in Cloverdale, CA d. 2/17/1959 in Santa Rosa, CA and another daughter Edna who was younger who lived in SF.
My grandmother, Myna, was very upright and not the type to lie. She said that this line is decended from CHARLES II. Does anyone know about the bastards of Charles II? I know he had a lot of them. How did they get to America and when?
