After reading your posting about James N. Charles from Tennessee, I began to wonder if it was possible the name could have been James M. Charles. I have found information about a James Madison Charles who was in Tennessee in the 1850's. His father's name was Oliver Charles. My great great grandfather's name was Andrew Jackson Charles. I have found information on these Charles' and wonder if they may have been related:
George Washington Charles
Thomas Jefferson Charles
Andrew Jackson Charles
James Madison Charles
If I am completely wrong- pleas let me know with a follow-up. Thanks
