Hi,
My husband is the descendant of James Robert Charles. His daughter Parilee Charles is my husband's descendant. That is where my husband's family takes a left turn. It seems Parilee was expecting a child by someone who drowned and when the child died she gave the child her maiden name of "charles" then she married John William (Lee) Crook. Can't find who the man was that she was expecting the child by, no seems to know or wants to talk about it.
Parilee's son was named Lillus Belta Charles and is buried at East Damacus Church. his son Valdon Charles is my husband's father. We live in Gordon County, Ga.
If you come across any info that would help me in search of who Lillus's father was would appreciate any help, understand his last name was Smith and lived in Gilmer County, ga and drowned after plowing in a field, went jumped in the river to cool off and drowned.
Barbara
