My great grandfather was Peter Charles born in Philadelphia, PA between 1835-1840. His parents were from Germany. He later moved to NYC in the late 1840s. In 1850, he was living with a Maria/Mary Charles, born about 1800, on the lower east side of New York City. I don't know if Maria/Mary was his mother but she may have been. He married Mary Frances Ellen Hutchison or Hutchinson around 1870 and had a son named James in 1874. He moved to Williamsburg, Brooklyn in the late 1870s and died there in 1890.
I am trying to find his parents and ancestors. This is a big brick wall in my family genealogy. Any suggestions and information is appreciated. My email is michaelbarberi@yahoo.com.
