Yes I am the one who called you in regard to Wilbur Means. Since that time I have found a copy of the "Means Family of America", and have learned much information. Concerning our phone conversation about Wilbur Means and William Means; William Means is my great-great grandfather, a carpenter who built a general store for Wilbur Means (not for sure what relationship he is to William but possibly younger brother or nephew). If you have any information on how Wilbur is related to William, that would be greatly appreciated. This general store later became a post office called Means Post Office in 1901. The community later was also named Means, KY. Regarding Aline Charles, she was my grandmother. She lived in Powell County, KY. Her father was James Charles and her mother was Naomi (Fitzallen?). I have no further information on the Charles', but I was told that there was possibly a Cherokee connection to the Charles'. Any other information would be greatly appreciated.
