New Garden meeting house (Western Guildford County) in Deep River I’ve been there personally and it’s hard to tell when you enter Jamestown, Randolph County. Jamestown and surrounding area is where the English, Nicholites later called New Quakers.

The Germanic population settled in Alamance County or close to it, some bought land from McCulloh and others from the agents of the King. My relatives that were Germanic, intermarried among themselves, because primarly they spoke the same language and had the same beliefs.
To the Northeast part of the county of Alamance which would be the closest to the Guildford county line, or I should say over the line is a community called Gibsonville, right around there is a church called Frieden’s Church. This Church is the key who Michael Charles (AKA Carl, Carle, Karl and Karle) was. The Church was established 1745. The records and services were still in German up until 1840’s. I’ve looked for the Charles’s graves & have not found any. The Michaels are there with other families that he was naturalized with Michael back in 1763. I’ve also looked for where he might have been buried in NC Achieves but no luck. The homepage for the Frieden’s Church address I left in an earlier posting to Ron Charles.
I use to leave in Guildford County and now I live in Lee which was part of Old Orange County. I am a direct descendant of Michael Charles by Betsy Charles & James Essech aka James Essex. I do have the records of Michael Charles land that he owned, I know it was up towards Reedy Creek and it was on the western part of the Haw River. It had other plats of land in Alamance County. I’ve found a lot of records of the Charles’ in Randolph county but the Nicholites and the Lutheran/Reformed are mixed together. There is a lot of information that Orange county library copied when the late Ethyl C. Hughes was having the named researched.
If you notice the spelling changes for the same people.
