Finding RF Charlebois USMCR WWII
Posted by: Réal Charlebois (ID *****0366) Date: February 09, 2012 at 10:24:58

Hi,

I have been contacted by someone, through my web site (charleboiseries.ca), who has found dog tags for RF Charlebois in his brother's effects. His brother past away in 1944 in a naval hospital. He tells me his brother was wounded in the battle of Bougainville, which is probably a clue to RF Charlebois' identification.

The dog tags read as follows:

Charlebois, R F
Type A
443753 C
T. 9/42
USMCR

I am trying to find out specifically who this RF Charlebois might be but without much success. I have consulted every US government database I could find and ancestry.com to no avail. Ideally, my untimate goal would be to convince this gentleman to return these dog tags to the family.

Can anyone help?

Réal
