Chaput and Son by claude-pierre rolland of 246 Hi Claude-Piere, I find your post interesting--- my father's name was Emile Chappus, b. 1896, d. 1975, descended from a Benjamin Chappus of Windsor, (son of Ferdinand, I believe), or Sandwich, Ontario. Nothing I can add but family lore said we are descended from a fur trapper who I take to be James Chaput. The names Benjamin, Samuel, Joseph, Robert, and Emile seem to be popular.
