I am a descendant of Robert Chappell of Prince Edward Co, VA through Jesse and Martha (Baldwin) Chappell. I have been unable to find Robert and Jesse from 1787 to 1810 when Jesse died in Pendleton Dist. SC. Your discussions have given me new direction. There were other families who made the trip from P.E. CO to SC. Two of them are the WEBBS and CLARKS. I'm also pretty sure some of the Baldwins made the trip, or perhaps were in the area before Jesse. I would be happy to share any information.
