Hi Ron,

Pope county is very close to Shawneetown, which is in Gallatin County.
It is possible there is some connections. My grand father and grandmother were William and Iva Chappell and williams parents were Grace and John Chappell. Before marrying John Chappell, she was married to a Riley and her maiden name was Dillan.
