Hi Betty,I descend from Sarah Chappell and Frederick Nantz. Their daughter, Elizabeth, b 25 Jan 1832 m Joseph G. Morgan, b 23 March 1827, s/o Jesse and Rebecca Howard Morgan, my g-g-g-grandparents. Actually I made a typing error on my first entry, marriage date of Frederick Nantz and Sarah Chappell should read 20 March 1830, not 20 March 1820. My sources for this information include family knowledge, Rev. J.J. Dickey interview with John D. Coldiron. Frederick and Sarah Chappel Nantz's first daughter, Martha married John Coldiron. I have not been able to find any additional information on George Chappell. The only other info I have is also from the Dickey Diary, where George II state Chappell is Dutch (he thinks) and there were 15 children born to this marriage. Another tid-bit is that George Chappell I was suppose to be the first settler on Greasy Fork. In 1870 Clay County census a George Pace, 65yrs old, living with the family. I think that this is Elizabeth's brother, he is also listed in the 1850 Clay County census as being born in NC. Hope the above helps. Good place to start is Harlan County and Clay County. Good luck in your hunting. Cathy
