Apparently our family married into South Carolina Indians, as the surname is listed prominently in the contents page of the "South Carolina Indians and Indian Traders book." The contents page is on line.
At http://www.rarebookreprints.com/NAgenealogy.html scroll down till you see the South Carolina book, and click on the link and scroll to the "families."
