Thanks to Joel B. Chappell for this info: Captain Jonathan Chappell the Master of the "Speedwell" and his son Thomas settled in the Virginias. Most of the early Chappell settlers, south of the Mason-Dixon line are descended from Jonathan and Thomas. The book Chappell-Dickey and Allied Families by P.E. Chappell, written 1910 is located in the Library of Congress.
