Hi: I don't know if my Asa is related to yours, but here goes. I have a Nicholas Chappell and Lucy Wood both born in Cherry Valley, Otsego Co., NY. They had the following children William / Asa W. / Francis (Frank)/Oscar. (The ones I know about. Oscar was 20 in 1850 Census and in his father's will listed as a minor (1850). I know Oscar married to Mary (Found in the 1875 Rochester NY cnesus)and had the following children: Joseph (19)/George (16)/Isabel (14)/ Susan (11) (all of these children born in Monroe Co.)
Asa W. (8) Minerva (4) born in Seneca County. Note: It says that Oscar was 43 on this census born in Monroe Co. and his wife is 36 born in Seneca County. Asa W. is my GGGrandfather and Oscar would be my GGUncle. If you want a copy of the will and census records I would be glad to send them to you and what I have on my Chappell's. By the Way, the Chappell's had a homestead somewhere in Monroe County.
I have a picture of it but unable to locate it.
