My great, great grandmother was Winnifred Finney Chappell.
I have a book that came down through my family called Genealogy History of the CHAPPELL, DICKIE AND KINDRED FAMILIES OF VIRGINIA. 1635-1900 compiled by Phil E. Chappell, Kansas City, Mo. Revised Edition 1900 Kansas City, Mo.: Hudson-Kimberly Publishing Company, 1900. The CHAPTER XIV is about THE DICKIE FAMILY and mentions John and Ailsie(a peculiarly Scotch name). It is about 14 pages long. Pages 266-280. See if you library has it or maybe Amazon. com. My book is very fragile and I am at this time trying to find someone to rebind it.
