I believe Ellen Chapel was the offspring of Marquis de Lafayette Chapel and Lillie McPerton both buried in Rockwell, Michigan's Plainfield Cemetery. Marquis's father was Guerdon Chapel of Ada, Michigan. He was born in Chenango County, New York in 1793. He married Rachel Landon in Burford, Canada, in 1814. They later moved to Oakland County and then settled in Ada.
