Shannon, I have made a quick review and will post here and keep looking. Hope this is helpful. Census: New York, Onondaga, Marcellus, 1800 Asel CHAPEL showing 2 males under 10, 1 male 26-45, 1 male 45 and over plus 5 females under 10, 2 females ages 10-16, 1 female 16-26, and 1 female over 45. Also found some information but unfortunately I neglected to record the source. However this is what I copied: Asel CHAPPELL died 1829 wife Sabra and children she had by me. 3 youngest sons-Norman, Franklin, and Hiram granddaughter Harriet Adeline BLAKE George H and Justus are minors in 1836 Here is another listing in that same set of copies: Ashel CHAPPELL died: 1829 Marcellus, Onondaga, New York married three times: 1st: ? 2nd: Elizabeth 3rd: Sabrina TROWELL His first marriage is traditional. No record to prove. He was married to Elizabeth when he sold land in 1803. In 1790 he resided at Whitehall, New York. Removed to MArcellus by 1800 perhaps earlier with at least 11 children. He married Sabrina before 1809 and she survived him. Children: Joshua, asshel, Robert Lucy, Lydia, Katie, Judith, Lafallet, Mehitable, Hannah, philemon, Martin, Otsie, Norman, Franklin, Hiram, Sabra, Polly, George, Justus, Sarah. I think, Shannon, that it is questionable that he had this many children even with three wives but it is possible I suppose. Also saw this: Asahel CHAPPEL, Jr. Born: about 1788 probably married Esther Hoyt daughter of Abel Hoyt and Rhoda Benedict. Wish I had the source for you of this information but I wasn't so good at that in my early genealogy years. My Curtis CHAPPELL served in the Revolutionary War. Let me know if any of this has been helpful to you.
