conflicting info
Posted by: Charles Chapman (ID *****4350) Date: June 15, 2009 at 20:02:48
  of 9863

I have a Tom Chapman that has 4 children the names and dates of births all match to my grand dad and great Uncle
The problem is it shows Tom married to a Maudy for 14 years by the 1900 census which would be 1886 when they married and all the children are listed under them
On my Grand dads death certificate it shows Tom and Nanie Chapman as his parents
Nanie shows up as the daughter of William Chapman and only being 17 at the time which made her born in 1883
It would be highly unlikely that there would be 2 men with same name and kids with same names in same Town, county and state and have different wives, but how in the world could my gornd mom get my grand dads mom wrong on the death certif. esp as young as he was at his death 38
This is chapmans in lynchburg,Moore County,Tenn
How do I resolve the conflict?
Any help greatly appreciated
