John Chaplin was born 14th March 1830 in Earl's Colne. His parents were Thomas and Sarah ??
John was an Agricultural labourer and married Ann on 30/1/1851. In the 1851 census he and Ann were living with her widowed father at 120 Colneford Hill,Earl's Colne with their 1 month old daughter. Ann's father was a thatcher. Also living with the family in 1851 were Ann's brothers William 20,Henry 17 and Reuben 13. There were also 2 sisters, Emma 14 and Maria 10.
After Ann's death in 1872 John Chaplin married Ann's sister in law,(wife of Reuben)Jane Partridge.
