As you can see, a researcher has stated one Janet (Jeanette?) Caton was born 1718 in St. Margaret's Westminster Parish, MD. She married Moses Chapline 1717 in Queen Anne's Parish St. George Co MD.
The researcher has her parents as William Caton and Elizabeth. I have requested the source of his information.

Will was written May 28, 1765 and names heirs: wife Elizabeth, bro. Benjamin; sisters Esther Pearce & ****Jenat Chaplin*****; stepson William Betts; nephews James Caton (son of bro. Benjamin), John & Sampson Williamson.
Executrix, wife Elizabeth. Witnesses: William Thomas, Periscilla Walker. Codicil witnessed by Charles Ridgely.
Will probated Aug. 19, 1769. Ref: Arch. vol. A8, pg 74 & 84. Reg. of Wills, Liber L, folios 63-64.
Note: Arch. vol A8, pg. 84 shows widow Elizabeth as wife of William Carpenter.
Also, "Colonial Families of Delaware, Vol. I" by F. Edward Wright, pg. 28 - William Betts, son of Robert married to Elizabeth Newell, dau of John Newell. William died by 29 Dec 1740 when his estate was administered by Elizabeth Betts. A later administration record for this estate shows ***John Caton, Jr. and wife Elizabeth**** with her children William and Ruth Betts.
Delaware Archives - French and Indian War Rolls 1754-1703 show that John Caton served as Captain for the Upper District of Motherkill Hundred in Kent Co., DE in 1757. The surnames found on the transcript of enlisted men include many names found later in Rowan Co., NC along with Caton.
