Anyone gone further back? I am looking for references to John Chapleyn who lived at Cornett or Cornish Hall in Essex. His son was Thomas Chapleyn b abt Sep 1565. James last name is now spelt Chaplin. Hemarried Joanne Digby and had Jernegan Chaplyn, a mercer of London who married Elizabeth Kempe and Jane Awnsham or Agmundersham.. My lines of descent comes from here.
