Juan Bautista Schiapapria(Schiaparelli)was born in Villa Albisola on the coast of Italy and was baptised on November 16, 1627, the legitimate son of Bartholme Schiapapria and Batistina Badi. He left Italy in 1647 for New Spain. Upon arrival to new Spain he changed his name to Chapa. He Married Beatriz Olivares de Trevino in 1653. Beatriz was the legitimate daughter of Juan Olivares and Juana de Trevino. Juan Bautista Chapa was a conquistador, discoverer, and author. He served as secretary to the governors of Nuevo Leon and Coahuila. He died April 20,1695, at Monterey, Nuevo Leon. He is known as the anonymous historian, many historical(civil} records were written by him.

Juan Bautista Chapa is the Arch Progenitor of the Chapa family lines.(Mexico and USA)
