Additional info on Chapa Great Grandfather

I failed to mention that my father (Pedro Chapa) was born in Camargo, Tamps., Mexico. According to his birth records, this was 1904, although some other papers show 1906. He passed away in 1971. He came into the USA at the age of two, and dropped his father's surname (Chapa) and began using only his mother's, Trevino. He never saw his father again. Supposedly, a captain in the mexican army who was killed during the mexican revolution.??? Stories I have heard but have not been able to verify.
My father also had legal Last Will & Testament papers (destroyed during Hurricane Beulah in Harlingen, TX)that indicated he had inherited some land in "Rancho La Azucar". That to me is not important, but may help shed some light on finding my roots. Is there anyone out there with some info for me?

Thanks,
Ninfa Trevino-Chapa Gonzalez
